Kansas
grain elevators truly are prairie skyscrapers, towering over nearly
every city and town in Kansas. Many of the concrete grain elevators,
such as the one shown here, were built in the 1950's. These elevators
are approximately 130-140 feet tall or as tall as a 13-14 story
building (including the box-like "head house" up on top).
