grain elevators come in all sizes. Each of the round grain silos
shown here (looking like connected round columns) will hold from
18,000 to 40,000 bushels of wheat, depending on the diameter of
the silo. Each silo is approximately 100 feet tall, or as tall as
a 10 story building. The box-like "head house" at the top is 30-40
feet tall. The head house contains the equipment that controls how
grain is moved in and out of the grain silos.
